Brighter than sunshine

With the monsoons having set in and the weather turning all grey and gloomy, its time to add a pop of brightness to our monochrome world. What better way to do it than with Neon’s?!  :D
Now, my love for colour knows no bounds. I love bold pieces and bright colours as much as any girly-girl would love the colour pink (so you could only imagine my craziness over this trend). I also love experimenting and playing around with colour, mixing and matching my outfits.
But somehow my general style is going with one loud piece and combining it with a neutral or pastel hue and then probably accessorizing to add colour and spice it up, giving it a perkier look (Another one of the reasons why I’m loving neon’s this season). With neon’s this is the best way to go, without looking like you’re trying too hard or stirring up too much controversy- getting heads to turn yet not having people going “what the hell was she thinking?!”
You could wear both belts, either the thinner one on the top of the broader one (a peek-a-boo effect) or both parallel to each other, it will add to the playfulness of the look.

For those of you who are colour shy, or follow a more minimalistic style, or aren’t quite sure if you’ll can pull off the trend, could ease yourselves into it by investing in simple and more subtle products of neon eg; nail paint, clutches, accessories (head band, wrist band, slim belts, shoe laces etc.).

With Neon’s acting as highlighters, even if its just one piece of neon incorporated in the outfit, it could still work wonders in drawing all the right kinda attention.

Although this vibrant trend can be a little tricky for colour blocking, it still makes for a nifty look. Only thing to keep in mind is to ease off on the accessories while trying this.

Spilling over from the spring/summer collections into the winter/fall wear as well, this raging trend is a definite must try for all fashionistas.

How true. And did I mention I love Kim K? :D Anyway, how would you guys wear this trend? Let me know in the comments.

Love,
Charmaine.

DIY - Denim bag!

Okay, so I had a pair of jeans lying around which I no longer wore, so  I thought, why not make something useful out of it. But what? Hmm. Think, think, think. And then it suddenly hit me! A BAG!
So this is really simple, anyone can make it! All you need is  a pair of jeans,  a sewing machine and some embellishments(I used colorful ghungroos, safety pins and chain link).
So let’s start with the steps :

1)   Take out your jeans and cut them short enough to wear them as hot pants. Keep the leg  portion aside.

2)   Turn them inside out and stitch the bottom a couple of times.   Turn it back again, you now have the basic structure of the bag ready.

4)   Cut the leg portion of the jeans that you kept aside earlier in the shape of a flap and stitch it onto the bag.

5)   Take the chain link and  stitch it along the  top of the bag

6)   Embellish with whatever catches your fancy! Here are some embellishments I used.

And you're done! :D

That's my sister Darsha posing with the bag, doesn't she look super cute? <3

How do you like this DIY? Let me know in the posts! Send pics at everythingstylishmumbai@ymail.com if you decide to try it yourself!
