The horrifying side of Pinterest.

I'll be frank with you guys. I love Pinterest. I love learning about fashion and food and places I didnt even know existed through Pinterest. And I'm not the only one. Pinterest, social media's latest darling has had a rapid rise.
It has also revealed a very alarming situation of Thinspiration or Thinspo boards, which mean pictures or sayings which give us inspiration to lose weight. Now isn't that a good thing? Sure! I used to love checking out these boards when I felt too lazy to hit the gym and it really did inspire me. THAT WAS UNTIL IMAGES LIKE THESE STARTED POPPING UP ON MY SCREEN.

Scary, isn't it? But Apparently, this is what some women want to look like and will go to any lengths to achieve that. They want jutting collar bones and hip bones and ribs showing and the gap between legs. Why? Well, that's beyond me. But if any of you guys feel this way, please, snap out of it! This isn't how we were meant to look like. This is unhealthy, extremely dangerous and not at all sexy!
Thankfully, Pinterest is planning to ban all sorts of Thinspo pins/boards and has already put a warning on the site.

But I feel Pinterest is just the platform, the problem is much deeper rooted amongst us. And with the fashion world fueling our already low self esteem, we have hit a new low. I believe we need to spread awareness and on a large scale. What do you guys think? Let me know in the comments.
